Key Updated with 2007 Classes

January 6th, 2008

The Key now contains data for spring and fall 2007 classes.  These classes are noted with 2007 in the Year column.

We hope students find this additional class data useful during drop/add and when planning courses for next semester.

If you have any issues viewing The Key with either platform or issues viewing with any browser at all, please contact us.

Grade Data Now Works With Safari 3

December 10th, 2007

Some of you contacted us with news that the grade data on UGAKey was not working with Safari 3.

We seem to have corrected the problem, which had to do with a feature we had been using to debug the site.

The spreadsheets should now be working for Safari users (most Safari users are still using version 2, but those who have Leopard installed have Safari 3).

If any Safari users (or users of any browsers, for that matter) are having problems getting any part of the site to load, please contact us.

Thanks!

Final Exam Schedule

December 7th, 2007

We know it is often hard to determine when your final exams are given. The easiest way to figure out when your finals are is to check this page at the Registrar’s Office. This is the fall 2007 final exam schedule.

The easiest way to use the final exam schedule is to check the bottom to see if you have any mass exams (typically Accounting, Chemistry, French, Spanish, Italian, German, MSIT, and Physics classes). See when those exams are given. Then, use the scheduled class time for each of your other classes to determine the exam date and time.

For all other major dates, check this Registrar page.

Problems Using Internet Explorer and Other Browsers

September 14th, 2007

Some users of UGAKey with Internet Explorer are having problems getting UGAKey grade data to load.

A couple of quick fixes:

  • Give the pages a little while to load. Some spreadsheets are extremely large (the English department spreadsheet comes to mind) and they take a long time to load, even on fast systems.
  • Make sure you have javascript enabled (click here for some help enabling javascript).
  • Try updating Windows and update Internet Explorer. IE 5 has real troubles loading UGAKey, so update if you can. Windows Update is the place to do all of this.
  • Uninstall extra toolbars you might not need (they take up a lot of computer power and keep the javascript in UGAKey from working).
  • Scan and clean spyware and adware from your computer (Ad-Aware and Spybot-Search & Destroy are a good start).

These recommendations work for any web browser on any system. The spreadsheets in UGAKey take a lot of computer power to display, so slower computers have more trouble loading them.
